FEAL's systems for windows, doors and facades have EPD certification.

17.07.2023.

The ecological product declaration (EPD) is a complete report prepared in accordance with international standards that confirms the impact of the product on the environment throughout its entire life cycle.

Extraction of raw materials, transport, processing, packaging, disposal of waste material, use and its final disposal are phases of a product's life cycle that, each in its own way, affect the environment.

All products have numerous impacts on the environment, and one of the most well-known is its impact on global warming, i.e. the production of greenhouse gases. This effect is increasingly called the carbon footprint.

Because of all the above, and in order to obtain valid results, the test is standardized in detail and is in accordance with the ISO 14025 standard and LCA (Life Cycle Assessment). This scientific method of calculating the carbon footprint, created during the entire life cycle of the product, ensures wide international acceptability.

There are numerous advantages of EPD certification in the construction sector, one of the most important of which is that this certification helps designers and contractors understand the characteristics of sustainable products.

According to current legal regulations, producers are not legally obliged to obtain an EPD certificate, but the market is increasingly demanding it in various branches of the industry. This applies above all to the construction industry, as the EPD certificate is a prerequisite for obtaining a green building certificate.

FEAL's systems comply with international sustainability standards and meet the requirements for so-called "green" public procurement (GPP - Green Public Procurement).
